Multi-Modal Interaction and Continuation

Signeaf is a framework for understanding interaction through the pathways available to a person.

It begins with a simple principle:

The Person is Complete. The Tool Adapts.

Interaction may move through hands, eyes, ears, voice, writing, movement, symbols, technology, or combinations of pathways.

When one pathway is unavailable, interaction does not have to end.

It can reroute.

This Site Is Still Being Built

The Signeaf corpus is currently being organized, reviewed, tested, and expanded.

The material is not yet open for general public reading because pages, definitions, links, structure, and supporting material are still being refined.

Some ideas are complete.

Some are still developing.

Some pages may move as the structure becomes clearer.

Rather than publish an unfinished system as though it were finished, the main corpus will remain private while this work continues.

If You Cannot Wait

If you are interested in Signeaf and would like to read the developing corpus before public access opens, you may contact:

Please tell me a little about yourself and what interests you about Signeaf.

Include:

  • the username you would like to use
  • your email address

If access is provided, a new Signeaf account will be created for you with a temporary password.

The temporary password is only for your Signeaf account. It has nothing to do with your email, Google account, or any other account you use.

After you log in, change the temporary password to your own new password.

Please be patient.

I do not monitor this email account all the time.

Your message may also be filtered into spam or junk mail, which means I may not see it at all.

If you have not heard from me within one month, please contact me again.

No response does not necessarily mean your request was declined or ignored. I simply may not have seen your message.

What Will Be Here

The Signeaf corpus explores multi-modal interaction, interaction pathways, education, access, language, history, rights, technology, and the structures that allow people to continue interacting when one pathway does not work.

Its central concern is not which pathway a person is expected to use.

It is whether interaction can continue.

Human interaction does not begin with one pathway.

It begins with what we can use.

Hands & Feet!

Please Return Later

When the corpus is ready for general public reading, access will open here.

Until then, this page offers a public preview of Signeaf while the developing corpus remains private.
